MoneyBook - Selective Data Deletion
At MoneyBook, we provide you with full control over your financial data. You can delete
specific pieces of information (like individual transactions or categories) at any time without deleting
your entire account.
How to Delete Specific Data In-App
You can manage and delete your data directly within the app. These actions are performed immediately on
our
servers.
1. Deleting Transactions
- Locate the transaction in your Home or Statistics screen.
- Tap on the transaction item to view details.
- Tap the Delete (trash icon) and confirm.
2. Deleting Custom Categories
- Go to the Profile tab.
- Select Manage Categories.
- Swipe left or tap the edit icon on the category you wish to remove.
- Select Delete and confirm. (Note: This may also affect transactions associated with
this category).
3. Deleting Debt Records
- Open the Lend & Borrow screen.
- Tap on the specific debt record.
- Choose the Delete option.
Request Data Deletion via Email
If you have specific data deletion needs or cannot access the app, you can request support via email.

Subject: Data Deletion Request
Information to include: Please describe exactly which data you would like us to
remove
(e.g., "Delete all transactions from Jan 2024").
Data Removal & Retention
When you delete data in MoneyBook:
- Immediate Removal: Data is immediately removed from your active profile and
Firestore
database.
- Permanence: Once deleted, these specific records cannot be recovered.
- Backup Retention: Like account deletion, fragments of deleted data may remain in
our
encrypted backups for up to 30 days for system integrity purposes.
